1942 U.S. Government Poster provided to the French Resistance during WWII.  The Resistance grew because of the Vichy Regime which was collaborating with the Germans.  The poster is about 30" X 40."  It had been folded at one time.  Linen backing was professionally applied to preserve this scarce/rare poster.  Faint fold lines are still visible.  There is chipping around all of the edges.  Corners show wear.  This is the first one of these we have found.  We are unable to determine the artist's name as shown in the 3rd photo.  It appears this poster was made from an original painting.  The linen backing creates a border about 1.5" larger that the poster.
