Wm. Rogers Silver Water Pitcher Engraved For Flying Tigers 1941. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This one is a part of history! Extremely rare! Engraved on the side is the following:
“2nd Div. 2:20 Pace Ohio State Fair 1941 Brownwood Tiger Victor”
Engraved on the bottom of the picture is as follows: (about the size of quarter): Windsor Wm Rogers with proof marks on both sides - one is a star and the other appears to be a bird. Numbered 3717
From what we understand it was a test flight of the Tigers at the fairgrounds on how fast of a pace they could fly (the second division); testing for the war. We don’t know if this was before or after the bombing of Pearl Harbor but probably after. This cup was presented to the 2nd division Flying Tigers.
There is not another one like this one! Significant history so that is why we are asking what we are. This item should probably be professionally auctioned but we have so many old items; we are going to let it go here on eBay.
