Beautiful rare French WW2 cross of war marked 1939 1940 early and with star pin with original ribbon.  Nice authentic look to it.  This medal was awarded for gallantry in combat in the very brief window between French declaration of war on Germany in 1939 and the German blitzkrieg attack on France in May 1940.  This is the essential French combat medal to have in a WW2 collection.  Hand-picked at a military market in Europe.  See pictures.
