    Description

Mississippian Ladle Pottery - 3 ½"h x 5 ½"w - Found on the Big Eddy Site in Cross County, AR in the early 1970's by Dave Parker - Mississippian Culture A.D. 1200. From Kevin Pipes who disbursed the Ken Partain Collection, Dover, AR. While ladles are quite common among prehistory and protohistoric pottery making cultures in the Southwest, few are found east of the Mississippi River. This example is unbroken and 100% complete. It has a highly polished finish that is painted red.
