    Description

    This outstanding Mississippian artifact from the Mound Builders/Fort Ancient Indian Tribes was
    part of a collection of Dr. Kenneth Sims.  He recently passed away and the entire collection was
    auctioned off.   I picked up numerous pieces, this IS one of them. {You can see the other pieces
    I currently have for sale on Ebay, by looking at "Other items listed".}
    Dr. Sims purchased the delightful collection knowing that it was all housed in the walls of an old home on
    the banks of the Ohio River in Kentucky.  It is believed to be from the Mound Builders dating from:
    900 AD to 1400 AD who inhabited the Mid-West in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee
    & West Virginia.
    This Bear (?) animal effigy measures: 8" Long & 7 1/2" High.   It weighs 2.98 lbs!
    No restorations, no chips, no nicks, and totally unbroken.  It is in beautiful condition!   Well cared
    for through the years.  The details are remarkable, take a look at the feet and the eyes, nice detail.
    If it doesn't sell, I will give it a good home and eventually donate it to a museum.  It is a treasure.
