Description

Presented is a fantastic quality Victorian Meriden Silver Co. silverplate lemonade
or ice water pitcher, with two goblets. This piece dates to circa 1870's. The pitcher
is a 'tilting' style, sitting on a base with a sort of cradle arrangement so it
can be tilted to pour the contents. The two goblet style cups sit on little
bases to either side of the pitcher. The pitcher is
beautifully hand chased and hand
engraved with intricate floral decorations that is
very detailed and well done.
Also, has two wonderful Aesthetic Movement
patterns of a child writing and a fish.
The interior of the pitcher has the original
porcelain liner. The plating is in mint condition
for it's age and the detail on the entire piece has hardly any wear. The two cups though have
dented rims, probably from falling over during the years of use. Could be easily repaired, but
I chose to leave it original. Also has a bonus. An original cabinet card with the same type of
tilting water pitcher. Placed along side the pitcher for display.
Measures: 23" tall x 12" wide x 12" deep.
