    Description

Gorgeous Rogers Smith & Co. Britannia ware and Silverplate double wall insulated water pitcher design patented in 1854 by James Stimpson and additional patent in 1858 by Lymans.  Piece is silverplate over Britannia ware, where the handle and spout were left unplated.  Britannia ware was used as a safer alloy mimicking pewter without the lead.  The piece is ornately scribed and the piece has been personalized "Lizzie" on one side and "june 23, 1871" on the other.  Several small dents in piece, I believe I counted 5, some plate wear, mostly on underside of lid.  Porcelain insulation uncracked.  Beautiful piece thats 150 years old.  Purchase with confidence with free 30 day no hassle returns!
